Match Report

CBHS 0 - Rio Linda 19

We are very proud of the effort shown today in Rio Linda. We really did believe we would win that game at the half. It was there for the taking. Down just 7-0, one converted try. And even after the Knights scored again, we fought and fought.

Brothers showed great form in the scrums, commitment in the tackle, great skills at the halfbacks, and fierce drive from Daniel, Mike, Garrett, Ben and Sauce. Leo and Joe at hooker worked well. Good to see Miguel's cast off! Leo really stepped up in the second half. We need that again, and the same from Robert. Jeremy's body is falling apart! Its all downhill from here Mr. 18 year old! Gilbert did fine, and I suspect he and Aaron, who didn't play, will both see a lot of playing time this next week. Mark Spottiswood too, will play a lot more. Mike and Jeremy will need time to heal.

This club has come a long way, and we feel there is a great base that will help launch us for next season. I expect twice as many players (and hopefully three times), where the dozen or so returning veterans can lead the way and we can prepare for game day playing controlled rugby at our own training sessions. As far as we have come since January, we can really kick ass next Winter/Spring!

Enjoy the short break, but guys, We have a play-in JV Playoff game at Rancho Cordova High Tuesday, the 19th, at 4:30. Please assemble at their school's soccer field by 3PM. Leo, Nate, Joe Malm and others, please go down the list and make sure everyone knows about this, and will be able to arrange their schedules to make it.
